Zoom Wedding | Photographed from 279 miles away
Charlene and Xavier hosted their Brooklyn wedding exclusively on Zoom during Covid, and I made all their photos remotely, while quarantining with family in Maine precisely 279 miles away . Their images are a combination of simple screengrabs and edited camera files.
While shooting portraits we were able to override their computer’s built-in camera, favoring instead a Sony rangefinder on tripod, which gave me tons more camera controls while giving art direction via zoom.
Charlene is a digital artist and wanted to make a play on Zoom’s ubiquitous green screen backdrops, so she obtained permission from digital artist Blake Kathryn to incorporate her work. Buckle up!
